kavernous isolata ii
Daniel J. Kirk

Exhibition Dates: June 1, 2012 - July 26, 2012

Three days in a remote cave located near the town of Hasankeyf in Eastern Turkey, Daniel J Kirk explored the notion of cave painting. With no food and no human contact he allowed the creative process to guide his painting while intending to raise questions about graffiti, vandalism and culture. The idea of a “retreat” was investigated and now presented in kavernous isolata ii, an experience that offers insight into isolation, chaotic of stream of consciousness and creative process.
